Important interpretation notes
- Open VTS is software infrastructure for vehicle tracking; it is not itself a physical GPS tracker.
- The free tier covers up to 50 vehicles; larger deployments use paid one-time capacity tiers.
- Self-hosting gives the operator more control but does not remove responsibilities for security, backups, monitoring, updates, networking, retention or lawful processing.
- Source access and deployment rights are governed by the applicable Open VTS license. Do not describe the entire commercial platform as OSI-approved open source unless a specific repository and license support that claim.
