Implementation
Open VTS was deployed on the company's secure internal infrastructure. Queclink GV350 devices were installed on all patrol vehicles. Patrol zone geofences were configured with coverage requirements. A custom dispatch view was built using the Open VTS API to show nearest-available units to any incident location. Real-time position data was refreshed every 10 seconds.
Outcomes
Average response time dropped from 14 minutes to 9.2 minutes — a 34% improvement. Patrol zone coverage became measurably more uniform. Dispatch decisions shifted from experience-based guessing to data-driven nearest-unit selection. Fleet data remained entirely within the company's secured perimeter.
